The Tampa Bay Buccaneers who have been very busy this offseason do not appear to be done adjusting their roster.
The latest player they are targeting according to reports is recently released defensive end Jason Taylor.
This move would make entire sense for both parties as Taylor was away from his family basicaly all of last year. Which is the reason why he did not want to add a stipulation to his contract with the Redskins to attend offseason workouts that would have kept him away for up to 25 days. The Redskins were willing to keep Taylor at his current salary of $8.5 million if he would have agreed to the stipulation.
The other reason this move makes sense is the Bucs new Defensive Coordinator is Taylor’s old coach from his days in Miami, that being Jim Bates. The two men had a great relationship whil in Miami during Taylor’s best years. This move could also a smart move in the developement of young defensive lineman Gaines Adams and give the Bucs a nice 1-2 punch for the next year or two.
