Browns Say They May Keep QB Anderson; Have an Interest in RB Ward

There has been plenty of talk about the Browns moving QB Derek Anderson, but on Friday new General manager George Kokinis said that the team isn’t all that anxious to move the QB, and that the team is willing to let Anderson battle Brady Quinn for the starting quarterback job.

Kokinis spoke in Indianapolis as he was at the annual NFL scouting combine. There’s been chatter that the team was going to move D.A. as he has a $5 mil roster bonus due in March, and it looks as if the team is going to for sure give the starting QB job to Quinn. Now that does not seem to be the case.

Another Browns rumor picking up steam is that the team may be interested in Giants soon to be free agent RB Derrick Ward. He is set to be free as of next Friday, and the Broncos are another team that has an interest in making a push for Ward.

Ward rushed for 1,025 yards for the Giants last season. He will be 29 in August.
