The Giants may be landing a big time free agent in a few weeks, as LB Karlos Dansby of the NFC Champion Arizona Cardinals may make his way to the Big Apple. Today’s New York Post has an interesting tidbit about Dansby possibly coming to the Giants in 2009.
Karlos Dansby, the leading tackler and best linebacker on the upstart Cardinals team that nearly pulled off a big upset in Super Bowl XLIII, said yesterday he “wouldn’t mind playing in a huge market” when asked about possibly coming to the Giants. The free agency signing period begins on Feb. 27, and the Giants certainly have a need at outside linebacker.
“Playing in New York? Who wouldn’t want to play in New York?” Dansby said on Sirius NFL Radio. “That’s just like playing for the Dallas Cowboys, you know what I’m saying? It’s a big market. You’re going to get an opportunity to be prime time. It’s a huge market. I wouldn’t mind playing in a huge market. I wouldn’t mind at all.”
Dansby was the Cards leading tackler this past season, and had an interception in Sunday’s Super Bowl XLIII loss to the Steelers.
