Report: Playboy Super Bowl Party Cancelled

The Cardinals and the Steelers will definitely be in Tampa, Florida, for this year’s Super Bowl, but it looks like there won’t be any bunnies. TMZ.com reports “Playboy” magazine has cancelled it’s annual Super Saturday Night Party.

Sources say the economy was a factor in the decision. “Playboy” is reportedly planning to use the money they would’ve spent on the party to create a new website. The event has been a big draw with celebrities and athletes since its inception in 2000. This year would’ve marked the party’s tenth anniversary.

“Playboy” has made a few cutbacks in recent months. Back in October, the company announced it would forego DVD production in favor of online content. As part of that change, nearly 80 jobs were eliminated and travel costs were reduced.
