The Steelers will beat the Cardinals in Super Bowl 43. That’s the prediction from the video game “Madden NFL 09.” It forecasts a close game that ultimately ends up with a 28-24 Steelers win. Madden predicts the Steelers will build a 21-7 lead before the Cardinals storm back, only to fall short.
EA Sports has used the Madden NFL franchise to simulate upcoming Super Bowls for the past six years. In 2004, it correctly picked the New England Patriots to beat the Carolina Panthers. Madden NFL ran off an impressive four-year string of winning picks but fumbled for the first time in 2008 when it predicted the New England Patriots would beat the Giants. In reality, the Giants pulled off a stunning upset, beating the heavily-favored Patriots 17-14.
Super Bowl 43 takes place on February 1st at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
