Could Matt Hasselbeck Be Under Center for the Vikings in 2009?

After Sunday’s outing by Tarvaris Jackson in the Vikings wild card loss to the Eagles, there is no doubt that the team will look at the QB position with great interest in the offseason. If it be in the draft or through free agency or a trade, look for the Vikings to do something. With that, today’s Pioneer Press is reporting an interesting rumor about Seahawks veteran QB Matt Hasselbeck making a move to the Twin Cities.

Here is the tidbit:

A more realistic and practical objective, though, might be to trade with Seattle for Matt Hasselbeck, 33, who probably would be available for a second-round draft pick. The Seahawks, 4-12 this season, need to rebuild. Hasselbeck has run a pure West Coast offense, which Vikings coach Brad Childress likes to run.

The Hawks have to rebuild after an awful season, and they do have a young QB in place in Seneca Wallace. With Mike Holmgren gone from the Hawks, it may be time for Hasselbeck to move on as well.

If Matt has so much pain and or stress on his body, how can he play for the vikings when he could not play for Seahawks? He is 33 years old and makes 6 figures to sit on the bench hear, Do you think the Vikings are going to do the same? That is stupid. You should see the house he is having built in East Wenatchee, Wa. He is paid to much for too little. Take the PAIN EARN IT!!!

I hope that you never see Matt Hasslebeck in one of your uniforms. I am a true Seattle fan and yes you can call me a grudge holder, but the Vikings franchise is dirty. What they did with Steve Hutchinson and the poison pill contract are disgusting. It should have never been allowed and it was down right unethical. So what do you want your team to do? It seems like through the years you basically want to switch franchises. You can keep the Vikings. I know the Seahawks have never won a championship and they had a horrible season, but at least we didnt blow it 4 times in the big game. I am and will always be a Seahawks fan and I dont want to lose Hasslebeck especially to a dirty franchise like the Vikings. I hope they move out of that town and to Los Angeles. I wish you all nothing but the worst.
