Bears Offer Former Lions Coach Marinelli D-Line Coaching Job

Despite going 0-16 with the Lions, it didn’t take former head coach Rod Marinelli long to at least get a job offer from another team.  Pro Football and the Chicago Tribune is reporting that Marinelli has been offered the job of coaching the Bears defensive line.

The report says that Marinelli received the formal offer after Brick Haley, who filled that position in 2008, left to take a job on LSU’s staff. Marinelli met with the Bears last week and worked with head coach Lovie Smith on the Buccaneers from 1996-2000.

It is not a for sure that Marinelli will take the spot, as there was a report that the Seahawks were also interested in getting his services.
