With Plaxico Burress suspended, Antonio Pierce under investigation, and the football world watching their every move, the Giants will be under pressure. How will they respond? Like Champions.
From a pure football standpoint, they’ll be fine. Amani Toomer, Steve Smith, and Domenik Hixon, Sinorice Moss, and Kevin Boss to throw the ball too. They’ve won without him, too: See Seattle, Pittsburgh (he didn’t play enough to make an impact), and Washington. In that sense
they’ll be fine.
From an emotional standpoint, they’ll be fine. Tom Coughlin will take no prisoners, and leaders Eli Manning, the aforementioned Toomer, and Shaun O’Hara will take care of any stranglers. They’ve won with distractions before (Tiki, Shockey) and they’ll do it again.
From a media standpoint, they’ll be fine. No one on the team says stupid things and pretty much speaks in ‘coach speak;.
The football world is against them. How could they win without Plax? They’re the underdog. That’s a familiar role to them, right?
