ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that the Lions and former Vikings, Fins and Raiders QB Daunte Culpepper have struck a deal for a two-year contract. The site is reporting that Culpepper will join the team on Monday, and wear #11.
We had reported on Tuesday that Culpepper had worked out for the Lions, and that the sides had started talking about a contract, but that he had left their complex without a deal. But, Culpepper said he would stay in touch, and it seems evident that he’d like to sign with the team if this is all true.
Culpepper was reported last weekend to have a workout set for the KC Chiefs this past Tuesday as well, but then that was nixed after Tyler Thigpen had a good enough game for Herm Edwards to say “forget it.” Then Culpepper’s interests turned to Detroit, where he ended up with the team on Tuesday working out.
