If Adam Jones wants to play again in the NFL, he is starting to take the steps to again try to move into the good graces of the league and commissioner Roger Goodell. ESPN’s Ed Werder is reporting that Jones, who was suspended this past week for at least four games, is entering an alcohol treatment facility in the Dallas area on an inpatient basis today.
The Dallas Morning News is reporting that the league told Jones he had better seek treatment for alcohol, and the CB decided to enter the clinic to try and clean up. The incident that got him suspended last week had to do with him getting into a scuffle with his bodyguard after reportedly drinking at a hotel.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones didn’t suspend Jones for Sunday’s game vs the Cardinals because he didn’t violate any terms of his deal with the team. But NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said Adam Jones again violated the NFL’s personal conduct policy, and said he was on a short leash for his past issues.
