If Travis Henry had any thoughts of playing again the NFL – he’d probably better start looking for another line of work. Then again, he’d better hope he has a good lawyer, as Henry, already banned for a year for his off the field issues, was arrested today following an alleged cocaine deal.
The DEA said that Henry was involved with Henry and James Mack, who were arrested a day earlier after the two met to buy cocaine from a person who was cooperating with authorities, according to an arrest warrant affidavit. Mack and Henry were being held on suspicion of knowingly and intentionally conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine.
Henry was being held pending charges after an alleged “multi-kilogram cocaine transaction” according to a statement released on Wednesday by the Rocky Mountain division of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency. He was let go by the Broncos after just 15 months after he signed a five-year contract worth $22.5 million US following stints with Tennessee and Buffalo. Henry gained 691 yards and just four touchdowns in his lone season with the Broncos.
