The Lions are struggling on both sides of the ball at 0-3, and now is not the time to start throwing stones. With that said, Jon Kitna is coming out and throwing those very stones about the new offense that the team is running under new coordinator Jim Colletto.
“I’m not comfortable because we’re not scoring points,” Kitna said. “It’s very frustrating. There’s nothing to not be comfortable about. It’s a really basic offense for me, so it’s not like I have a lot of thinking or anything like that to do. We’re not doing a lot of check-with-mes. We’re not audibiling a lot at the line of scrimmage. So you just … I don’t feel like I’m overwhelmed by it or anything like that. It’s just, we’re not scoring a lot of points.”
Ok Jon, so the team is not scoring points, and whose fault is that? Your the QB, and it’s your job to be a team leader as a veteran leader. Give me a break, your “not comfortable”?! Kitna has been opening his mouth more and more over the past two seasons, and it seems like each time he’s ended up with his foot in it. These types of quotes are just another example of that.
