While the KC Chiefs are further from ever from being competitive, they appear to be on the verge of trying to find themselves a QB for the future. Jay Glazer of FOX reported earlier Sunday that the Chiefs called the Cleveland Browns about last years first-round draft pick – QB Brady Quinn, and if he may be available for a trade.
Glazer said that the Browns declined to talk to KC about moving Quinn for a 09 draft pick or picks. Quinn has yet to start his first NFL game, but after Sunday’s 28-10 loss to the Ravens, he may be closer to starting than ever with the three INT outing from current starter Derek Anderson.
With the Browns at 0-3, it would not be a surprise to see Anderson have a short leash next week in Cincy. As for the Chiefs, they are simply awful, and have already started three QB’s in 2008, Damon Huard, Tyler Thigpen, and the QB they thought was the QB of the future – Brodie Croyle. It now appears they are going to be looking for QB’s either from another team or using a high pick in the 09 draft for a thrower.
