Ravens-Texans Game in Doubt Due to Hurricane Damage in Houston

Reliant Stadium

It appears that due to Hurricane Ike, the Monday night game between the Ravens and Texans in Houston is going to be postponed. Shea Guinn, the president and GM of Relaint Park, where the Texans play, said today that the staduim’s retactable roof had damage, and there was no way it would be fixed in time to host a game Monday night.

“There is no way this stadium will host a game on Monday night,” Guinn said Saturday. “There are parts of the roof that are completely gone.” The storm tore off parts of the roof. An announcement was expected later Saturday, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said.

The game had already been pushed back from Sunday at 3:05pm Houston time to 7:30pm Monday night. What they will do from here is anyone’s guess. The Texans are at Tennessee in week three, while the Ravens are at home to host the AFC North rival Browns.
