Vince Young is said to be okay, after the Titans called Tennessee police Monday night about his emotional state. Head coach Jeff Fisher called authorities after the quarterback’s friends said Young sped away from his home without his cell phone.
Young’s actions came after he suffered a knee injury while playing Sunday. After a meeting with police, it was determined Young wasn’t trying to harm himself. Fisher said on his radio show that he didn’t have time to wait and see if the player was safe with the initial information he had, but after talking to Young he said it was all a misunderstanding.
Young’s agent said the concern over the quarterback was unwarranted because he was at a friend’s house watching TV and eating. Meanwhile, ESPN.com reports Young has a sprained MCL in his left knee and there’s no word on when he’ll return. Titans head coach Jeff Fisher says Young will be out this week and Kerry Collins will start against the Bengals.
