Rams RB Steven Jackson ended his holdout Thursday and it was followed by a swift contract negotiation. The result of those negotiations, a six-year contract through 2013 worth $49.3 million with $21 million guaranteed. Although, because of some clauses in the last two years, they most likely will end up void making it a three-year extension worth $29.3 million.
Now that Jackson is back on board, he has expressed his desire to remain a Ram for the rest of his career and will be ready for the beginning of the regular season. Now that he is the fifth highest paid running back in the NFL, much is expected of him to help pull this struggling Rams team to a great season.
I’m really glad that Jackson is finally back on track for this season, he is the cornerstone of this offense and will hopefully take some pressure off of Marc Bulger who has been struggling this preseason.
