The Cincinnati Enquirer reports the Bengals are close to re-signing troubled wide receiver Chris Henry. The Bengals released Henry April 3rd following his fifth arrest since being selected by Cincinnati in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft. Henry was suspended indefinitely by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, but the suspension was overturned after legal charges were dropped.
The 25-year-old West Virginia product will still miss the first four games of the 2008 season for repeated violations of the league’s personal-conduct policy. In three seasons, Henry has 88 catches for 1,370 yards and 17 touchdowns.
