With football season right around the corner, The Alzheimer’s Association is launching the Tailgate to Tackle Alzheimer’s program, designed to turn the average tailgate party into a fundraiser for World Alzheimer’s Day (Sep. 21). More information on Tailgate to Tackle Alzheimer’s is available at:

1. How do I sign up to Tailgate to Tackle Alzheimer’s? What kind of materials will I receive?
Visit actionalz.org to sign up and pay the $20 registration fee. You’ll receive a Tailgate to Tackle Alzheimer’s kit during the week of Sept. 15. In addition, there will be a Tailgate to Tackle Alzheimer’s flyer available for download so you can decorate your tailgate site.

2. What comes in the kit?
The kit comes with a donation can, stickers, host form and pre-addressed return envelope.

3. When should I host my tailgate?
We’re encouraging supporters to host their Tailgate to Tackle Alzheimer’s at games during the weekend of World Alzheimer’s Day (Sept. 19, 20 and 21).

4. Where should I host my Tailgate to Tackle Alzheimer’s?
Some suggestions include high school, college and professional football games; soccer games or other September sporting events.

5. How do I get the money back to the Alzheimer’s Association?
After your tailgate, please mail the unopened donation can and your completed host form back to us in the pre-addressed return envelope.

6. Will the money be credited to my local chapter?
All of the funds raised through Tailgate to Tackle Alzheimer’s will support the full mission of the Alzheimer’s Association.

7. What’s the last day to register to host a tailgate?
We will accept registrations between August 8 and September 9 at actionalz.org.

8. Can I still host a tailgate if the registration deadline has passed?
Yes, just download the host form (found online at actionalz.org) and enclose it in an envelope with the donations from your tailgate. Mail both to:
