The Baltimore Ravens will finally get their franchise player in training camp as according to John Clayton of ESPN.com, defensive end-linebacker Terrell Suggs will end his holdout this weekend and report to training camp on Sunday, as confirmed by a source. Suggs will sign a $8.5 million franchise tender on Sunday – presumably for one year – and he has already talked to the Ravens about possibly playing in the team’s third preseason game against the St. Louis Rams next week.
Included in the franchise tender is a provision that states that Suggs will not ask for any condition in the deal that will stop the Ravens from franchising him next season; he is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent after this season. The plan the Ravens have in place is to have Suggs practice at the team facility next week and play about 15 snaps against the Rams; according to a source, Suggs will not play in the team’s fourth preseason game.
