Eagles guard Shawn Andrews says he has a good reason for missing training camp. The two-time Pro Bowler told the “Philadelphia Daily News” that he’s suffering from depression. Andrews says the symptoms first became evident about a year ago and have gradually worsened. Andrews is getting professional help in his home state of Arkansas, and that includes taking medication.
He confirmed he is being fined 15-thousand-dollars per day by the team for his unexcused absence. However he says his mental health is more important to him than the money or football. Andrews will be meeting with his doctor on Thursday and hopes to join the team this weekend.
