It is being reported by multiple media outlets that quarterback Brett Favre has asked the team for his release. Favre reportedly told Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy that the best thing was for both parties to part ways.
“We’re at a stalemate,” Favre told the Web site(ESPN.COM). “(Coach) Mike McCarthy and I both agreed last night that me being out there is a distraction and will continue to be a distraction. We all know the reason I’m here is because the commissioner [Roger Goodell] reinstated me so we have a lot of things to figure out. It’s simple and complicated, both at the same time.”
Favre left the morning practice without participating saying another meeting was in the works with Packers general manager Ted Thompson and club president Mark Murphy.
