The Last Straw? Shockey and Reese Have Reported Shouting Match at Camp

The stress level at Giants camp went up a few more notches, as already unhappy tight end Jeremy Shockey may have written his way out of town after a shouting match with GM Jerry Reese.  Vinny DiTrani of the Bergen Record is reporting that the back and forth took place sometime this week, and was reportedly over the fact that the media is wel aware of Shockey being on the trading block, and the TE didn’t like that.

Shockey has felt slighted all offseason, from way back when the team made him watch the Super Bowl in Glendale from a luxury box and not be on the sidelines for the teams crowning moment of topping the Pats.  The paper points out though that the main reason Shockey was mad was the fact the team said he was unhappy, drumming up the reason they were shopping him around.

If the Giants are done with Shockey’s acts and want to move him, they will be able to turn to TE’s Kevin Boss and Darcy Johnson, who took most of the tight end snaps during the five practices, the last of which was held Friday morning.  It’s well known at draft time the Saints had high interest in Shockey, and a deal was almost made.  Reports also have the Bucs, and maybe even Miami as teams that could eye Shockey if the Giants are serious about parting ways with him.
