Texans WR Jacoby Jones Arrested for DWI

Houston Texans receiver Jacoby Jones became the latest Texan in trouble with the law on Sunday. The Texans’ second round draft pick from 2007 was arrested on Chartres near Gray around 2 a.m. Sunday morning for driving while intoxicated. Although the Houston Police Department said they did not know what suspicion caused his original arrest, HPD Sgt. John Chomiak said, “it was basically a DWI investigation. There was no accident involved.” Jones was released on a $500 bond.

According to ABC 13, the Texans are still gathering information on the arrest and are not ready to comment. The Houston Chronicle reported that Jones’ DWI arrest on Sunday was his first offense with the law. For the Texans, Jones may remain the Texans fourth wide receiver behind WRs Andre Johnson, Kevin Walter and Andre Davis.

  1. Travis Lee Cole says:

Everybody makes they mistakes. I think that accident shouldn’t affect his playing time. If he works hard in practice which I know he does, and he deserves a spot on the starting line up give it to him. Its only his first offense its not like he is some criminal? And its not a big issue to where this should be all over ESPN or the new or internet, that is J.Jones business.
