The Baltimore Ravens appear in a serious flux at the QB spot, with Steve McNair, Kyle Boller and Troy Smith. It is no secret that the team is going to take a look at what is out there in terms of QB’s this offseason, but one player that does not appear to be on their radar is Eagles signal-caller Donovan McNabb. ESPN reported that the Ravens were taking a hard look at what it might take to acquire McNabb, something the Ravens are disputing.
“We have not had one meeting to discuss any personnel,” GM Ozzie Newsome said in Monday’s Baltimore Sun. “We’ve been very busy hiring assistant coaches.” The team did just hire John Harbaugh to coach the team some two weeks and a half weeks ago, and it seems a bit far fetched for the team to be looking to get McNabb right now.
The asking price for McNabb, who has been rumored to end up elsewhere, would be pretty high. Your probably looking at giving up multiple draft picks, and the Ravens have already said they do not want to part with the 8th pick in the draft. The Eagles also have to be a willing partner is making a deal, and they said in December that trading McNabb was not going to happen. So what gives? Likley just a rumor to stir the pot once again, but make no mistake, the Ravens are looking at QB’s this offseason.
