Hall Of Fame quarterback Warren Moon, according to the Seattle Times, has been charged with driving under the influence (DUI) after a traffic stop which took place on December 28, 2007; a charge against Moon was filed on Friday with an arraignment date set for February 5 in Kirkland (WA) Municipal Court. According to police reports, Moon was pulled over in December after his vehicle was seen drifting on the road at 2 a.m. It also had expired plates.
The Times also reported Saturday that a police officer smelled alcohol near Moon’s vehicle when it was pulled over on Highway 520; Moon refused to take any sobriety tests. Moon is facing his second DUI charge in less than a year; in August 2007, he pleaded guilty to negligent driving after a DUI arrest in April. Moon was placed on probation, fined $350 and ordered to perform 40 hours of community service. Moon had played 17 seasons in the NFL and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006.
