While the saga of Bill Parcells has now become the number one story in the NFL, the ongoing saga of public enemy number one in Dallas continues to be a hot topic. Yes, Jessica Simpson, the buxom blonde who is known more for her pearly whites than her singing, is taking a serious beating in the media and with fans for her display at Sunday’s Cowboys 10-6 loss to the Eagles. Seems that Simpson and hunky QB Tony Romo have been running the streets together, and then Tony had her in his box Sunday wearing his jersey (what grade are we all in again?).
Wednesday, the big story for media day in Dallas was – you guessed it – Simpson. Terrell Owens actually had to take back some comments after the media reported that he was peeved that Simpson was at the game. “Right now, Jessica Simpson is not a fan favorite — in this locker room or in Texas Stadium.” While the media ran with headlines like “T.O. to Simpson: Back off Our Quarterback,” the wide out came out later to diffuse the comments – “man, I was joking, everyone was laughing – right?”
Well T.O., maybe some were, but the bottom line is that your QB had the worst statistical game of his career Sunday, and let’s not forget last season when Tony had then squeeze Carrie Underwood at the game last December he also played awful against the Eagles, who on that day stole the NFC East from Dallas. So the trend here seems to be as follows: Tony’s girlfriend at the game – he plays poorly. Girlfriend at home – Tony plays great.
So the saga will surly continue this week, no word yet on if Simpson will fly to the teams game at Carolina vs the Panthers on Saturday night. While Cowboys nation is gripping with the thought of their team folding due to Simpson’s presence – Packer fans have already contacted her, offering to fly her to the game for free.
