NFL Winners and Losers – Week 15

Romo-Simpson

Another week minus the Monday night game in the books in the NFL, with some surprises coming out of play from Saturday and Sunday.  With that, here are our winners and losers for a week 15 in the NFL:

Winners
———-

The Dolphins – FINALLY!  Give the Fins some props for finding a way to get the job done Sunday vs the Ravens.  It would have been easy for them to simply just give up after going 0-13, but the Fins made some plays, got some luck in OT, and then took advantage of the Ravens missed field goal to win the game.

Losers
——–

The Ravens – Wow, how could this not be rock bottom for this organization.  Hard to believe that the Ravens were 13-3 a season ago.  Not only did they find a way to lose to an 0-13 team, but they also have lost a franchise record 8 straight.  Maybe Brian Billick should really be on the hot seat going into next season.

Winners
———-

Fred Taylor – Remember all those experts that counted out this tough Jags back?  Where are they now?  Taylor is the train that runs the Jags offense, and while Maurice Jones-Drew is a good back as well, the Jags are not 10-4 without Taylor, who Sunday ran hard, again, against the Steelers in Pittsburgh with bad weather.  Taylor can book his trip to Hawaii after Sunday.

Losers
——–

The Lions – The collapse continues for the Motor kitties, as Sunday they gave up 51 and only countered with 14 in a bad loss to the Chargers.  The hopes and dreams of a 10-win season and the playoffs are gone, and after going 6-2 the first eight games there is a legit shot they could go 0-8 in the last eight games of the year.

Winners
———

The Eagles Defense – Another team that looks out of the playoff race, the Eagles D had something to prove Sunday, as they stepped up and made life tough for Tony Romo and the Cowboys all day.  Jim Johnson did a great job with making sure that the Boys wide outs didn’t have a lot of open space to make catches and then yards after the catch as well.

Losers
——–

Fox TV – Come on already, give me a break and keep the cameras off of these women celebs that Tony Romo rolls into luxury boxes when the Cowboys play at home.  Last year on Thanksgiving it was Carrie Underwood, and Sunday it was Jessica Simpson.  Keep the focus on the field.  Same “loser” title goes to ESPN Radio’s Freddie Coleman (who is tough to listen to as is) and former Eagles CB Eric Allen, who would NOT STOP talking about Simpson being at the game.  Bottom line – who cares!

  1. I’m not a fins fan, but I’m actually happy for them to win!

Definitely showed good character to come back from 13 points down. I had a feeling they might win this one. Fins fans.. how relieved are you? Sure it’s still a rubbish season, but at least you haven’t gone the stretch without picking up a win.

As for the Ravens.. it doesn’t look good does it? 8 lost in a row, damn!

  2. Jason says:

As a Cowboys fan, I really don’t care who Romo’s flavor of the week is.. so I agree.. Lets keep the camera on the game, and less on her! Not only does she not have anything to do with whats going on down on the field, but shes really not all that grand to look at!
