Week 15 Preview: Tennessee at Kansas City

The season has been long and hard for the Kansas City Chiefs, and while their offense has been stuck in the mud for most of their six-game losing streak, it doesn’t look to get much better at home Sunday vs the Tennessee Titans.  The Titans should have big, bad Albert Haynesworth in the lineup, despite the fact he has not been practicing at all this week.  Any thoughts of Kolby Smith having a big day on the ground for the Chiefs will be tough to think about with Haynesworth and his friends up on that Titans D-line.

Then you have a Titans offense that last week put up 17 points, which usually is enough.  But then at the end the defense had a total letdown, as the Chargers scored a late TD and then another in OT as the Titans got away from taking chances and played more not to lose than to win.  This week Jeff Fisher knows that with the playoffs on the line they cannot allow that to happen, and they will do whatever it takes.

Look for a good day on the ground from the Titans, and LenDale White leads an attack that puts up 133 yards a game.  The Chiefs allow 123 yards on the ground per contest, which does not bode well for them.  Vince Young cannot afford to make silly mistakes, and last week he got away from trying to make plays and he and the offense played it safe, which is why they had such a drop-off in yards in the second half.

Tennessee is the better team right now, as the Chiefs are talking more about 2008 than the final three games of 07.  The Titans should be able to pound them on offense and on defense, and leave Arrowhead with their 8th win of the season.
