The Buffalo Bills have dreams of making the playoffs, and will take a step closer to being heavily involved in the AFC Wild Card mix after their beating of the Miami Dolphins Sunday at Ralph Wilson Stadium. The Dolphins have had a nightmare season, never getting in the win column, and things here do not look like they will get all that much better against a gutsy Bills team that could have packed it in two months ago.
The Bills are coming off a big win 17-16 against the Redskins on the road last Sunday. They got lucky when Skins coach Joe Gibbs called two timeouts that allowed a 51-yard field goal to become a 36-yard field goal. The Bills will also get the benefit of having running back Marshawn Lynch back in the lineup. He’s missed the past month with an ankle injury, and should find plenty of running room against the Fins.
Miami has not scored an offensive touchdown in three games, including a 3-0 shutout two weeks ago in Pittsburgh. Last week vs the Jets they were favored, but were blown out 40-13 at home. They also now know that LB Zach Thomas is out for the rest of the season after he was placed on IR with recurring migraines. John Beck has been subpar as a rookie QB in his first three games, and has to make better decisions with the ball in critical situations.
Bottom line the Bills are riding high at 6-6 when they had a brutal early part of the schedule. The Fins may be winless when the regular season wraps up. This contest will be nothing more than another frustrating day for the Dolphins while the Bills move to over .500 at 7-6.
