Seahawks linebacker Lofa Tatupu and Colts quarterback Peyton Manning highlight the NFL Player of the Week honors for Week 13. Tatupu won the NFC defensive honor for notching three interceptions and 11 tackles in Seattle’s 28-24 win in Philadelphia. Manning won the AFC offensive award for his four touchdown performance in Indy’s 28-25 victory over Jacksonville. Manning went 20-of-29 for 288 yards with the four TDs and one interception.
Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo won the NFC offensive award for his effort in Dallas’ 37-27 win over Green Bay. Romo finished 19-for-30 for 309 yards and four touchdowns, setting a single-season franchise record with his 33rd TD pass of the season. Minnesota kick returner Aundrae Allison won the special teams honor after returning a kick 103 yards for a score in the Vikings’ 42-10 victory over Detroit.
San Diego’s Shawne Merriman and Buffalo kicker Rian Lindell were also honored in the AFC. Merriman won the defensive award for recording nine tackles, three sacks and a fumble recovery in the Chargers’ 24-10 win over Kansas City. Lindell won the special teams award for nailing five field goals in the Bills’ 17-15 triumph over Washington.
