San Diego’s offense gets hotter: Chambers adds deep threat ability, more firepower to already potent attack

Breaking News: San Diego has traded for wide receiver Chris Chambers from the Miami Dolphins for a second-round draft selection, has learned.

Chambers clarified the deal in an email to FOXSports, but declined further comment until speaking with Dolphins coach Cam Cameron and general manager Randy Mueller.

Chambers has 31 catches for 415 yards this season.

Impact/Analysis: The deal is a reasonable one and Miami did a good job getting back a 2nd round draft pick. On the other side, San Diego found themselves a feature #1 WR with lots of talent. Miami will now look to Ted Ginn Jr. for plays to be made in the passing game, as they went to him a lot last week against Cleveland. The Chargers hope Chambers will improve his hands and get into the end zone, while providing them a deep threat next to Antonio Gates, something they so desperately need. In the fantasy realm, this is big news that will be taken with joy for owners that have Chambers, also look for Ginn and Ronnie Brown to benefit and get more touches. San Diego has now made their offense that much better and expect them to be a fit for Chambers and his skills. Check back for more insight on this move by listening to the “Fantasy Spotlight” Friday afternoon, hosted by the Russ Loede combo.
