Warner to Miss Time with Torn Ligaments?

Warner sits with his elbow wrapped

Yahoo Sports is reporting that Cardinals QB Kurt Warner has told family and friends via email that he has torn ligaments in his non-throwing elbow.  Michael Silver of Yahoo says that he injury would keep Warner on the bench for awhile, and that a MRI today would revel indeed if the ligaments are torn or not.  Warner went down in the first quarter of the Cards 25-10 loss to the Panthers at home on Sunday, and was replaced by Tim Rattay, who did little to lead the offense and threw three picks in the loss.

Reports say that the team will look to sign free agent QB Tim Hasselbeck sometime today.  If that is the case, likely they will keep three QB’s on the roster depending on the situation and how long they think that Warner will be kept out of the lineup.  The Cardinals already lost starter Matt Leinart for the season with a collarbone injury two weeks ago in the teams win over the Rams in St.Louis.

Warner has thrown for 601 yards on the season with four touchdowns and one interception with a QB rating of 103.1.  The team was counting on him to be the starter with Leinart on the sidelines for the rest of the 07 season.
