In what has been a recurring theme and a repeated lack of judgement, Dallas television station KXAS is reporting that former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Quincy Carter was arrested in Shreveport, LA early Friday morning on a drug charge. Carter was booked in the Shreveport City Jail at about 4 AM after being charged with possession of marijuana. He was later transferred to Caddo Correctional Center.
In a police news release, police said that the incident began at about 1:30 AM when an officer stopped a silver car that was reported to have been involved in selling drugs at a local Circle K convenience store. When stopped, the officer smelled alcohol on Carter and transported him to the DWI Unit for testing. Carter was found not to be intoxicated but had in possession three grams of marijuana in his pants pocket. Carter shortly thereafter was charged with 2nd-offense possession of marijuana, a felony. Carter is no stranger to scrapes with the authorities; back in December 2006, Carter was arrested on a drug charge in Irving, TX, following a domestic disturbance call.
