Another unfortunate injury for the Dolphins occurred when quarterback Trent Green suffered a concussion and was carted off the football field during the Miami Dolphins-Houston Texans game at Reliant Stadium.
The injury occurred when the Dolphins had possession of the ball at the Texans’ 25-yard line. Green tried to pitch the ball to wide receiver Ted Ginn, Jr. Ginn, Jr. then reversed field when the defense chased him. That’s when Texans defensive tackle Travis Johnson’s knee hit Green in the head while Green atempted to block for Ginn, Jr. After the play ended, Johnson taunted Green, drawing a 15-yard penalty.
Green lay still for several seconds as medical staff rushed in to check on him. Green was strapped to a stretcher and carted off; Green’s arms were moving on the field. This has been the second serious injury in the last two games at Reliant Stadium; Texans defensive tackle Cedric Killings was also taken off the field on a stretcherafter getting hit while on special teams. Killings broke a vertebrae in his neck and was hospitalized for 5 days.
