Chargers Gab Editor Jim Dubenetzky’s NFL Picks for Week 5

Carson and Chad talk

SAINTS -3 vs. Panthers
I am probably going to regret this pick, but the Saints can’t be that
bad. I just have a feeling they can put it together this weekend
against a below-average Carolina team.

JAGUARS -2.5 at Chiefs
The Chiefs victory of the Chargers was a fluke; don’t buy into them.
The Jaguars are going to run the ball up and down the field and then
some at Arrowhead on Sunday.

LIONS +3.5 at Redskins
Detroit is going to start fast on Sunday put up points quick forcing
Washington out of their running game and into a passing game that wont
be able to keep up with Kitna’s kids.

FALCONS +8 at Titans
I think the Titans win this game but the Falcons have shown me enough
improvement, especially at the QB position, that I think they will
keep this game within a TD.

TEXANS -5 vs. Miami
The boys from Houston will bounce back this weekend and come away with
this one. Miami is just not a very good football team, they have had
success on offense handing the ball to Ronnie Brown but I have a
feeling the Texans D steps up and stops him thus stopping the

STEELERS -6.5 vs. Seattle
I was doubting the Steelers a little bit and almost went with the
Seahawks in this one but the Steelers are at home and pissed off, look
for them to out-physical Seattle and win the battle at the line of
scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

PATRIOTS -14.5 vs. Browns
I like what the Browns are doing on offense but they will face their
toughest competition this season against the New England D and I doubt
the Browns score more than 17 points. It goes without saying the
Patriots will put up huge points on the Cleveland D. New England has
covered every week this season and they will do it again this weekend.

CARDINALS -1 at Rams
I hate the 2-QB rotation in Arizona but it’s working for them and they
will dominate a very weak St. Louis team who will be playing without
and injured QB Marc Bulger; Gus Ferrote will get the start and look as
rusty as Bears QB Brian Griese did in his first start.

GIANTS -3.5 vs. Jets
The Giants D will shut down the Jets like they did the Eagles. Baby
Eli might even get going as there will be huge mismatches in the Jets

COLTS -10 vs. Buccaneers
This one is easy, there is now way Jeff Garcia can stay within 10
points of Peyton Manning.

CHARGERS +1.5 at Broncos
The Broncos are the second worst rush defense in the NFL. LaDainian
Tomlinson had a great first half last weekend but was not given enough
carries in the second half. That will not happen again. The Chargers
will run up and down the field and if they can stop the big play
(specifically the long pass) they will win this game outright.

RAVENS -3 at 49ers
This game is ugly. It will be a hard-hitting low-scoring defensive
dominated football game. The edge goes to the Ravens because the SF
QB’s will not be able to handle the pressure of the Baltimore D.

PACKERS -3 vs. Bears
The Packers will end the Bears season on Sunday night. Brett Favre
has been playing great and that will continue against the Bears injury
depleted D. Chicago might stand a chance if they put Devin Hester at
QB and just give up on throwing the ball.

COWYBOYS -10 at Buffalo
I think 10 points is almost too much to give Buffalo because they are
at home but I think they Cowboys are too good not give the 10 points.
