Ricky Williams applies for reinstatement

Ricky WilliamsAs has been expected for some time, the Associated Press reports that suspended Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams has reapplied for reinstatement into the National Football League; this has been confirmed by Williams’ agent, Leigh Steinberg, with Steinberg adding, “Ricky is extremely excited about the prospect of playing in the NFL again and hopeful for a positive response.”

The NFL has declined comment, saying that it has not yet received official notification from Williams. Steinberg stated that Williams was in “great shape and “great spirits”; he also said that Williams has been working with a personal trainer and continues to teach yoga. Williams remains under contract with the Dolphins, but team head coach Cam Cameron has not said whether he wants Williams to stay with the team.
