Houston to Find Out if Johnson’s Injury is Serious

Johnson could be out

The Texans will find out Monday if an MRI on Andre Johnson’s left knee shows any serious damage.
Johnson said he strained his PCL (posterior cruicate ligament) and will be day-to-day (likely out) heading into the big match-up with the Indianapolis Colts at Reliant Stadium on Sunday.

“I’m a guy who never has injuries,” said Johnson, who has started 63 of 66 games in his career. “To have Indianapolis coming in next week, that’s a game you don’t want to miss. I’m going to take it one day at a time and do what I need to do to get myself ready.”

Looking at this since early Sunday, I’m beginning to believe this a serious, sad injury, for a team that’s off to a great start.  If Houston loses Johnson for any considerable amount of time their season will go down far south because of the lack of weapons, or lack thereof, behind Johnson.  Right now he is their MVP and along with Schaub this team has been mightily impressive.  For fantasy owners it would be a huge loss to see him miss any time/games and Ahman Green may have to re-gain his old “Packer” form.

From the looks of this, expect Johnson to miss at least this week’s showdown (really?) at home against Indianapolis.  Jacoby Jones may the one to keep your eye on, as he would have to step his game up and bring his pre-season results with him to the big show – the regular season.
