The National Football League has fined Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth $5,000 for a tackle he made last week against Jacksonville. He was fined for unnecessary roughness after slamming Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew to the ground; the Titans were penalized 15 yards for the incident.
Haynesworth told the Associted Press after being asked if he would lighten up on running backs after the penalty, “No. Not at all. I’m not going to be any gentler or whatever.” However, he added, “Maybe I’ll just help them up.” Haynesworth is the player who was known for being suspended 5 games for stomping on the helmetless head of Dallas Cowboys center Andre Gurode during a game last season.
