Editor Jim Dubenetzky’s NFL Picks for Week 2

Jon Kitna

Last Week 6W 8L 2T
My Pick vs/at Opponent

Buffalo +9 at Pittsburgh
I know the Steelers are good but 9 points is way too many, especially against a very emotional Bills team who will be rallying around the injured Kevin Everett.
Cincinnati -6 at Cleveland
They are playing the Browns, enough said.
Indianapolis -7 at Tennessee
The Titans just don’t have enough defense and don’t have a strong enough passing game to play efficient catch up.
Houston +6.5 at Carolina
Houston whomped the lowly Chiefs and are now eager to show that they are for real by beating a legit team, the Panthers, or at least covering the line.
St. Louis -3 vs. San Francisco
I’m tempted to pick the 49ers because of their defense, but their offense is just to weak.
Packers +4 at New York Giants

Even if Eli plays I would pick the Packers.  The Giants showed a lot of heart on Sunday night but they just have too many injuries.

Jacksonville -10 vs. Atlanta
Atlanta can’t protect the QB and the Jaguars are hungry after last week.
Saints -3 at Buccaneers
The Saints struggled on offense in the opener but look for them to dominate on Sunday, the Tampa Bay defense just doesn’t have the speed to keep up.
Vikings +3 at Lions
The Detroit offensive line will have their hands full and Kitna will spend a lot of time on the turf.  I also think Minnesota will have success rushing the football.
Cowboys -3.5 at Dolphins
The Dolphins just don’t have the firepower to keep up with the potent Dallas offense.

Seahawks -3 at Arizona
Arizona looks like they need a few more weeks to tune things up, while Seattle is looking like a bunch of crafty veterans.

Jets +7.5 at Ravens
I don’t think the Jets will win but the Ravens don’t have the offense to win by more than 7.5 and they have injury issues.

Raiders +9.5 at Denver
Playing in Denver is tough for Oakland but their defense is solid and should keep them within 9.5 points.

Chiefs +12 at Bears
I question whether or not the Bears will even score 12 points.  I think the Bears will win but not by 12.
Bonus: Since both teams will keep the ball on the ground as much as possible I also love the under for this game.
Chargers +4 at Patriots
The Patriots looked great last week and San Diego struggled a bit but the boys in SoCal are still pissed about how their season ended last year.  I think San Diego wins this outright, either way it should be a hell of a ball game.
Eagles -7 vs. Washington
This one was tough for me to pick, but even with their horrible performance last week I am taking the Eagles.
