The joke of the pro wrestling career continues for Adam “Pacman” Jones, as on Sunday night at the “No Surrender” PPV staged by TNA wrestling, Jones and Ron “The Truth” Killings won the TNA Tag Team titles. Jones did nothing in the match, other than to cover an already knocked out wrestler to win the tag belts. Jones twice refused Killings’ attempts to tag him into the match, following the rules set forth by the Titans that Jones could not get physically involved in any sort of match.
Evidently tagging in and simply covering a wrestler though for a win was okay. TNA was right away heavy in promoting the win for Jones and Killings, as they put a pic of them with the belts on their web site. The suspended Jones has been trying his hand at wrestling since he screwed up all his chances to play in the NFL. His case will not be reviewed be until after the Titans play their 10th game on November 19th. He has two felony coercion charges pending against him in Las Vegas for a strip club fight and triple-shooting on February 19th.
NFL Commish Roger Goodell didn’t exactly seemed thrilled about Jones in a wrestling ring, and if history has anything to say, you have to remember that he didn’t give a free pass back to Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman, who felt he had done enough to get back into the league for the 07 season. Instead, he sits at home, awaiting yet another shot to play in the league. I would be willing to bet that Jones won’t find his way back into the league in 2007, and he at this point would be lucky to get back in 08 either with the way he has messed up chances to get back in already.
