Week 1 Preview, Philadelphia at Green Bay

Philadelphia EaglesGreen Bay PackersThis is, in my estimation, one of the blowout games this week; if you’re either a diehard Eagles or Packers fan, then you may want to watch another game that shares this time slot. For those of you who choose to watch this game, here’s some things to watch out for:

Good and bad news for the Packers – wide receiver Donald Driver will start but will be without Greg Jennings, which means that James Jones may get a start this week. The Pack also is hoping that linebacker A.J. Hawk can to a degree negate anything that Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb does. Where the Packers may have a ever-so-slight advantage is on the pass rush as they will go up against the Eagles “old” offensive tackles Jon Runyan and Tra Thomas.

Those items aside, expect the Eagles to blitz early and often against the Packers QB Brett Favre, which I’d expect as a result to turn into either forced fumbles by either Favre or the Packers “running back du jour”, or a couple interceptions by Favre. McNabb doesn’t have to play great this week as their defense will make things easy for him. Eagles in a rout.
