The New York Giants will soon which direction their team will go very soon; John Branch of the New York Times is reporting that Giants defensive end Michael Strahan will make an announcement as to his intentions on either Wednesday (today) or Thursday. Strahan spoke with team general manager Jerry Reese on Monday night and again on Tuesday, with the phone conversations being considered “constructive and positive”.
Use whatever definition comes to your mind on what “constructive and positive” means. First glance tells most people that Strahan will return to the Giants soon after this announcement. But then again, there may be a snag, so who knows? It’s common knowledge that Strahan has discussed his options with his family, who have implored him to retire. On the flip side, Strahan’s teammates have made it known that they want him back. My take is that Strahan will return to the Giants at the salary he was going to be paid for the 2007 season originally ($4 million).
