Sigh of Relief – No Major Issues With Owens’ Back

Despite some pain, the Cowboys are feeling better today as wide out Terrell Owens’ back spasms are just that, and nothing more.  The playmaking wide receiver had a MRI on Monday, and it was found he had no other problems other than the pain he has been having the past few days.  The 33-year-old was stiff and had been treated by team doctors, but was still having issues with the back muscles.  “We feel sure that he just has back spasms, but we don’t want to take any chances,” coach Wade Phillips said . “There’s no alarm, but we wanted to make sure.”

Owens also has been missing some practice sessions with soreness in his hamstrings.  Phillips has been giving Owens days off in order to rest the hamstrings.  He had taken part in four straight practices before the back problems started popping up.  Owens before the spasms had been going full speed through workouts.  “I thought he would be a little better today, because he did all the stuff our trainers wanted him to do,” Phillips said. “But it wasn’t better.”
