LG Pete Kendall is not a happy camper at Eric Mangini’s training camp. Despite demanding to be traded or released months ago, Kendall was in attendance for the first day of Jets training camp. Kendall ran with the second team and spent a considerable amount of time by himself watching the offensive starters go through drills.
$Money$ is the reason Pete Kendall is so upset but is also the reason he decided to attend camp. First of all, Kendal wants a $1.0 million pay increase from his current salary of $1.7 million. Kendall said that they are not even in negotiations and he demanded to be traded again. He told the Associated Press, “I don’t understand why I’m still here. I’ve clearly expressed that I don’t want to be here. I’m running with the second team. It’s seemingly devolved into a personal thing. I show up and I’m assigned to the rookie dorm. I don’t get that.”
Kendall spoke with the team manager and head coach Mangini bout his living arrangements and Mangini said it was just a big mistake and had Kendall moved out of the rookie dorm. But Kendall is still pissed off and desperately wants out of New York. But it appears he will continue to attend camp so he doesn’t lose money.
