The Associated Press is reporting that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell sent a letter to Michael Vick telling him to stay away from the Atlanta Falcons’ training camp until the league reviews the charges filed against Vick. Goodell wrote, “While it is for the criminal justice system to determine you guilt or innocence, it is my responsibility as commissioner of the National Football League to determine whether your conduct even if not criminal, nonetheless violated league policies, including the Personal Conduct Policy.” The NFL did say that Vick would still receive his preseason pay. Goodell
also told the Falcons not to take disciplinary action on Vick until the league’s review has finished.
This is kind of good news for the Falcons as their training camp would have turned into a media and protestor carnival if Vick were in attendance. Even with Vick not in camp, all the attention will still be on his pending case and not on Atlanta Falcon football.
