The Chargers have signed Rich Musinski, a 26-year-old wide receiver from NFL Europe. Musinski was a four-year starter at 1-AA William & Mary where he was named an All-American and all-conference player in his senior year. He holds two receiving records at William & Mary: receptions with 223 and receiving yards with 4,168 yards (one of only 3 1-AA players to record more than 4,000 receiving yards, one of the other being Jerry Rice).He was signed as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2004 by the Tennessee Titans but was waived following the pre-season in 2004. Musinksi signed with the Patriots in July of 05â€² but that lasted only a week. Following the 05â€² season he again sgned with the Patriots and was later allocated to NFL Europe.
Musinski played 2 seasons with the Berlin Thunder. In 2003, he led the team in receptions with 23, receiving yards with 277 and in receiving touchdowns with 4. Last season he caught 21 balls for 292 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The 5â€²11â€³, 210 lbs. wide receiver signed a one-year contract with the Chargers. He will have an opportunity to compete for a roster spot, but just like most of the other NFL Europe players who signed deals in the last few weeks, Musinski is not expected to make the final roster.
