Skins Rookie Landry Misses Practice with Paintball Injury

Washington Redskins rookie free safety LaRon Landry missed the opening of mini-camp with the team on Friday after getting shot in the groin while playing paint ball. The number six pick in this past years NFL Draft was hurt as he was involved with a “team building” outing on Wednesday. While some of the players went out bowling or to lunch, many of the defensive players went to play paintball, where Landry suffered the injury.

“It’s kind of bizarre,” head caoch Joe Gibbs said to the Baltimore Sun. “Almost anything can happen in life, so every now and then something like that does happen.” The coach did say that Landry should be fine after a couple days of rest. At the camp on Friday, Landry looked on, and went up a hill slowly, looking to favor his left leg. Maybe it’s time for the Redskins to start planning on less physical and dangerous team building activities.

“I didn’t know paintball was that dangerous,” linebacker Marcus Washington said in the paper. “I hope it wasn’t friendly fire.”
