Ricky Williams: Marijuana or Football? Another failed drug test

Ricky Williams hoped to rejoin the Miami Dolphins soon but he will now have to wait until at least September. It has been reported that Williams tested positive for marijuana last month. Clinicians in the NFL’s substance abuse policy have advised Commissioner Roger Goodell to delay the reinstatement of Williams. So far, both the Dolphins and
the NFL have refused to comment.

Ricky William’s future in the NFL is uncertain, especially with the new focus on the character of players in the NFL. Previous to the latest failed drug test, Dolphins head coach Cam Cameron had declined to say whether or not he would welcome Williams back to the team. If Cam Cameron was on the fence before, this might cause him to cut ties
with Williams altogether. And whose to say that Goodell wont extend the suspension another year. Williams’s time is definitely running out though as he will turn 30 in May.

By failing yet another drug test, Williams has shown that he doesn’t have the desire and heart to play in the NFL.

  1. James says:

New coach Cam Cameron appears to be distancing himself from Ricky. With all that money on the line, how could Ricky have been caught positive again?
