Sources now say that Falcons QB Michael Vick was not only aware of what was going on at his house that was involved with the dog fighting incidents, but also Vick was directly involved in it. Reports say that a source close to Vick confirmed that he was down with what was going on at the home in Smithfield, VA. “He knows what’s going on in that house in Virginia,” one source said. “There’s not a doubt in my mind he’s involved with it.”
The other source quoted said that Vick has an “affinity” for dogs that fight, and that he was totally aware of what was going on at the home that he owned. One has to wonder if the whole story about him not knowing about the animal fights was now just a front, and that in the end Vick will end up having to answer for exactly what was happening at the house.
Late last month authorities went on a drug raid at the home and found nearly 70 dogs and various items associated with dog fighting. Vick’s story is that he has had a cousin living at the house and that he knew nothing about the pit bulls were being kept there that appear to have been involved in fighting.
It has been a bizarre offseason for Vick, from the finger flip at his own fans last year, to the STD story that broke about him, to the water bottle incident in Miami – to now this. Vick got some professional relief when the Falcons traded popular backup QB Matt Schuab to the Texans, but off the field, his life seems more wacky and wild than ever.
