Adam “Pacman” Jones now says he will appeal his one-year suspension that the NFL handed down on him earlier last week. While this does not come as much of a shock, it does tend to make one wonder if after reading his comments if he actually thinks he did anything wrong. Jones deserved the suspension, and as stated last week, anyone that would have committed the acts that he did at a normal job would have been fired long ago, not just suspended.Jones finally did get quoted from a reporter from ESPN at “Friday Night Fights,” and said that he felt the punishment that he got didn’t fit the crime. “I think it was a little bit harsh,” Jones said. “I expected the suspension, but for a whole year for a guy that hadn’t been charged with nothing? I really didn’t agree with it. But for the most part, I’m taking it like a man. I’m going to appeal it. We’ll see what the future brings.”
If Jones was “taking it like a man,” he would not be as bold as thinking he is above the law enough to appeal the suspension. He would take the situation for what it is, and that is he would allow the suspension to follow though, and in time would become a better man for the foolish things that he has done. Jones also went on to tell ESPN that he is being made an example for the things that have gone down. “Clearly you know for a guy that hadn’t been charged, I’m clearly made to be the poster boy,” Jones said.
He is probably better off saying that he has not been charged YET. As you know that if allowed, in due time he would be arrested for something that he would have done, and let’s not forget that the case in Las Vegas is not over yet, and charges still may come from that. Jones is a thug, deserves what he got, and he should not get a second look in terms of an appeal.
